A través del CRUP (Consejo de Rectores de Universidades Privadas), participamos del Encuentro Nacional de Educación Ambiental que se desarrolló en el Ministerio de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible de la Nación los días 2 y 3 de noviembre.
Asistió en representación de nuestra universidad Marcelo Artime, director del Instituto de Economía Circular y delegado rectoral de la sede Mar del Plata.
El tema central del encuentro fue “El rol de la Universidad en la Educación Ambiental” y los principales ejes de discusión fueron la inclusión de los conceptos de sustentabilidad en forma transversal en las curriculas, las mejoras ambientales en los usos de la comunidad universitaria y los estándares ambientales de los edificios y espacios públicos de las universidades, las acciones en la relación universidad con su comunidad para mejorar la calidad ambiental del entorno y la investigación y transferencia a la empresas y al estado de tecnologías sustentables innovadoras.
En ese sentido Marcelo Artime destacó el camino recorrido por la Atlántida en cuanto a la transversalización de esta temática en la currícula, la formación y participación activa en la Red de Universidades por el Cuidado de la Casa Común, la creación del Instituto de Economía Circular, la participación en MetaRed S de Sustentabilidad Argentina, entre otras actividades relacionadas. “En Argentina el sistema universitario en su conjunto está trabajando y haciendo grandes avances en materia de sustentabilidad”, destacó.
En el Encuentro se encontraban presentes José María González Losada, director de Educación Ambiental y Participación Ciudadana y Alejandra Reich, fundadora de la Red de Universidades Argentinas para la Gestión Ambiental y la Inclusión Social (UAGAIS).
