El día del Psicopedagogo y la Psicopedagoga se celebra el 17 de septiembre de cada año. Se conmemora a todos los profesionales dedicados a la investigación, diagnóstico y tratamiento de cuestiones relacionadas al aprendizaje. La fecha se eligió en reconocimiento a los inconmensurables aportes de Jean Piaget a esta disciplina.
La psicopedagogía es una ciencia que intenta entender y explicar el comportamiento humano en las diferentes situaciones en las que se encuentra. El objetivo principal de la psicopedagogía es la de potenciar al máximo el aprendizaje tanto de niños, como de jóvenes y adultos.
El campo de acción de esta disciplina se asimila muchas veces a la población infantil y juvenil, pero sabemos que se aprende durante toda la vida y en muchos escenarios diferentes, no solamente los escolares.
Podemos encontrar psicopedagogos/as desempeñándose en áreas como educación, salud, trabajo, justicia, empresas, desarrollo social y comunicaciones; entre otras.
A raíz de esta fecha, conversamos con docentes de nuestra universidad quienes nos cuentan acerca de los mitos más difundidos sobre el ejercicio de la psicopedagogía.
“Recuerdo un proyecto en el que estaba participando llamado “psicopedagogía entre los muros” y que se estaba desarrollando en la cárcel de Batán. Quienes nos recibieron tenían la curiosidad de saber qué tenía que ver un psicopedagogo con adultos ¿Ustedes no trabajan con niños?, nos dijeron. Ahí pudimos explicarles de qué se trata la psicopedagogía, la cual aborda al sujeto de aprendizaje y los seres humanos aprendemos desde el momento en que nacemos hasta nuestro último suspiro”, comentó la Lic. Verónica Berardi, docente UA.
Por su parte el Lic. Christian Tuninetti, director de la carrera en la Atlántida expresó: “Uno de los imaginarios más comunes respecto del ejercicio de la psicopedagogía en el contexto educativo es pensar que el rol profesional es semejante al de un maestro o maestra de apoyo. La psicopedagogía como disciplina y como práctica habilita para la intervención profesional, el acompañamiento y la orientación a los sujetos que presentan dificultades en los procesos de aprendizaje, desarrollando abordajes específicos e individualizados que atienden a la singularidad de la situación. Es un abordaje complejo y multidimensional”.
Y agregó: Tampoco es cierto que los profesionales de nuestra disciplina trabajen exclusivamente con problemas de aprendizaje dado que tenemos expertise en tareas que tienen que ver con el aprendizaje humano y en ese punto es que puede participar de proyectos que tienen que ver con la innovación y potenciar los procesos de las personas”.
Por su parte la Lic. Manuela Lafuente, docente de nuestra universidad comentó cuál es el mito más común entre los jóvenes: “Tienen esa idea de que si van a un psicopedagogo, a través de la realización de un test les dirá qué carrera deben estudiar cuando en realidad un proceso de orientación vocacional es mucho más que un test. El psicopedagogo no nos va a dar una respuesta mágica”.
Y agregó: “Realizar un proceso de orientación vocacional es conocerse uno mismo, es poder identificar cuáles son las fortalezas, debilidades, capacidades y temores así como las posibilidades no solamente económicas sino también contextuales que tiene cada uno. De esta forma el psicopedagogo brinda herramientas para que puedan construir su proyecto de vida y le da estrategias a los jóvenes para que este proyecto sea viable”.
