La Atlántida participó de una nueva edición del Modelo de Naciones Unidas Regional (MONUR), una propuesta educativa que reúne a estudiantes de escuelas secundarias de Mar del Plata y la región para acercarlos, a través de una experiencia práctica, al funcionamiento de los organismos internacionales y a la actividad diplomática.
La 13.ª edición del encuentro se desarrolló del 5 al 7 de agosto en la Universidad Tecnológica Nacional (UTN) de Mar del Plata y fue organizada por el Instituto Juvenilia. Durante las jornadas, los estudiantes asumieron la representación de distintos países y participaron de simulaciones de organismos de Naciones Unidas, en las que pusieron en juego conocimientos, capacidad argumentativa, negociación y construcción de consensos.
El MONUR reproduce la dinámica diplomática de distintos órganos internacionales. Organizados en delegaciones, los jóvenes investigan previamente la realidad política, económica y social del país que les corresponde representar y, durante el encuentro, deben sostener sus posiciones, debatir y elaborar respuestas frente a diferentes problemáticas de la agenda internacional.
En esta edición, la Universidad Atlántida profundizó su acompañamiento a la iniciativa a través de la Facultad de Derecho. Además de los reconocimientos destinados a los participantes destacados, integrantes de la Facultad formaron parte de los jurados encargados de evaluar el desempeño de los estudiantes.
Como parte de ese acompañamiento, la Universidad otorgó una beca del 100 % para estudiar la carrera de Abogacía y dos becas del 50 % para la carrera que elija cada estudiante ganador.
La participación de representantes de la Facultad como jurados permitió, además, acompañar la experiencia desde otra perspectiva, poniendo especial atención en el contenido de las intervenciones, la solidez de los argumentos, la investigación previa y la capacidad de los participantes para construir respuestas durante las instancias de debate.

Ese fue el caso de Nicole Cabas, ganadora de la beca del 100 % para estudiar Abogacía en la Universidad Atlántida, quien participó por segunda vez del encuentro y destacó la incidencia que tuvo su primera experiencia en la elección de su futura carrera.
